Panasonic Plasma TV Teardown
Semiconductor Insights, once again, explores then inner workings of todays brand-new technologies.
Plasma TV Deals: 55-inch Panasonic 1080p 3D HDTV: $1192.98 (TC-P55ST30)
This 3D TV features strenuous 3D technology and promises a full 1080p image to each eye. If you don't want to invest in the 3D glasses (and maybe even a Blu-ray 3D Thespian) now, this is still an awesome 2D TV. It has that full high-def image, the 600Hz subfield drive, two USB ports and three HDMI inputs. It also has Panasonic's own 3D VIERA Likeness Viewer for 3D playback of photos and movies, as well as support for VIERA Link. One of the best VIERA features, however, is Panasonic's own VIERA Affix platform. New for 2011, this feature allows viewers to access a variety of web-based pleasure, all from the included remote. Current popular VIERA Connect apps include Netflix, YouTube, Pandora, Amazon Pressing Video, and much more.
Our own Ian White got to check out the 50-inch model from the ST30 series earlier this year. His study earned the TC-P50ST30 our coveted BPBS BIGGIE award. "You can achieve some jaw-dropping picture worth out of it if you calibrate it properly," he said. "And it also happens to do 3D, quite well I might add." Read his full Panasonic TC-P50ST30 3D HDTV Reconsideration for more information on this model, as well as some of the features included in the ST30 series.
